POSITION PROFILE: LoneBear/H. Roe Bartle Rotational Internship
DEPARTMENT: Multiple/Rotational
REPORTS TO: Executive Vice President of Communications & Director of Communications and Administration
STATUS: Seasonal, Hourly
JOB SUMMARY: The LoneBear/H. Roe Bartle Rotational Internship initiative will provide a candidate of American Indian heritage the opportunity to work with, learn from, and offer input for various departments throughout the Chiefs organization and present a cross cultural education through a medium of American Indian awareness in effort to increase cultural competency.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Be an enrolled member of a federal or state recognized American Indian Tribe
- Must have a bachelor’s degree
- At least 18 years of age
- Must reside, or relocate, to the Kansas City area for the term of the internship (July to June)
- Must be available to work at least 40 hours a week
- Must be available to work all home games
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Rotate between various departments every 2 months (subject to change)
- Communications, Event Operations, Marketing, Stadium Operations, Community Outreach, HR/Player Engagement
- Will take a lead position in assisting with: American Indian Heritage Month, American Indian Heritage Game, and Jim Thorpe Day
- Work closely with the American Indian Community Working Group
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Long periods of walking up and down ramps/stairs (stadium/event operations, and marketing)
- Move equipment up to 50 pounds (stadium/event operations)
- Light office duties and activities (other departments)
