Position Summary
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are seeking a motivated and highly skilled Seasonal Athletic Therapist to join our medical team for the upcoming CFL season. Reporting directly to the Head Athletic Therapist, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the health, safety, and performance of our athletes.
This position will work closely with the medical and performance staff to assist in injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation while helping maintain a professional and efficient clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with the evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of player injuries
· Support the Head Athletic Therapist with daily athletic therapy operations
· Provide sideline coverage during practices and games
· Assist with rehabilitation programming and return-to-play protocols
· Maintain therapy room inventory, supplies, and equipment
· Ensure clinic cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness
· Document treatments and injuries as required by team and league standards
· Adhere to all Canadian Football League (CFL) medical policies, protocols, and procedures
· Collaborate with strength & conditioning staff, coaching staff, and other medical personnel
Qualifications
· Certified Athletic Therapist designation CAT(C)
· In good standing with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA)
· Valid driver’s license
· Strong clinical assessment and injury management skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance sport environment
· Strong communication and teamwork abilities
· Availability for evenings, weekends, training camp, and travel as required during the CFL season
Assets
· Previous football experience in a therapy or sports medicine role
· Additional certifications in rehabilitation, manual therapy, or strength and conditioning
· Experience with electronic medical records or athlete management systems
Work Environment
This role requires working in a professional football environment, including practices, games, training camp, and occasional team travel. The candidate must be comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
