INTERN, GUEST EXPERIENCE & EVENTS (Two positions available)

The Guest Experience Department at Hamilton Sports Group strives to offer a world-class experience, creating exemplary moments that set a new standard for guests who enter our venue. The Guest Experience & Events Intern will play a key role in executing and improving departmental programs to ensure all guests at Hamilton Stadium receive the best possible customer service and event management expertise. Our goal is for each intern to finish their term with practical, real-world experience in event operations, confidence in leading staff, and a clear understanding of what it takes to successfully deliver high-impact live events.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Guest Experience
- Assist in interviewing and hiring a portion of the Guest Experience Team (ushers, ticket scanners, parking attendants, etc.)
- Play a significant role in event day operations, helping to oversee parking, fan entry, live feedback, part-time staff and security, and fan inquiries.
- Update the GE Team training programs and help oversee staff training.
- Manage the Stadium Ambassador programs, including special occasion in-seat visits and accessible escorts.
- Oversee the Stadium MVP program and other staff incentive initiatives.
- Create new policies and procedures for the GE Team and for fans to ensure the highest level of service is provided at Hamilton Stadium
- Assist in managing guest feedback systems to evaluate the impact of various guest experience initiatives.
- Research, identify, and implement opportunities for new guest experience programs.
- Analyze Ticketmaster entry data and track fan behaviour.
- Oversee the stadium Lost & Found following events.
- Available to work evenings and weekends.
Events
- Serve as an event coordinator for third-party stadium rental events.
- Coordinate with stadium operations & events team to support event set-ups (including creating visual floorplans), event logistics, staffing, and on-site execution for internal & external events.
- Support stadium events department through event inquiries, internal & external event revenue tracking, and coordination with SodexoLive!
- Research and identify trends and new opportunities to help grow stadium event rentals; New event revenue opportunities to host at the stadium.
- Collaborate with the stadium operations team on day-to-day administrative tasks, completing assignments as directed by the supervisor and operations staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Superior customer service skills developed through previous experience in consumer-facing roles
- Event management skills developed through previous experiences.
- Attention to detail and a genuine desire to improve best practices and procedures.
- An ability to work well under pressure with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Previous leadership experience is an asset.
- Passion for football, soccer, the Tiger-Cats, Forge FC, and the Hamilton community.
Compensation
Interns will receive a $300 per month stipend, with a $700 honorarium following the completion of their seven-month internship. Interns who complete a four-month internship will receive a $350 honorarium. Interns will be paid $95 for Hamilton Tiger-Cats games and $65 for Forge FC matches.
