Video Assistant (Seasonal)
Reports to:
Vice President, Football Operations & General Manager
Position Summary
The Video Assistant is responsible for managing all video operations for the Football department, including practice and game filming, video editing, and distribution of film to coaching and personnel staff. This role plays a critical part in supporting coaching strategy, player evaluation, and overall team performance.
Key Accountabilities:
- Film all team practices and games with a high level of accuracy and consistency
- Download, organize, and distribute practice and game film to coaching and personnel staff in a timely manner
- Maintain video systems (e.g., SkyCoach) for both home and away games
- Source and download film from CFL, NFL, NCAA, and U SPORTS as required
- Create and deliver video cut-ups for coaching and personnel staff
- Set up and manage video for all player and coach meetings throughout the season
- Provide video support during CFL Draft meetings and other football operations meetings
- Support coaching and personnel staff with all video-related requests and analysis needs
- Complete special projects and assignments as directed by the General Manager and/or Head Coach
- Ensure all video equipment is maintained and functioning properly
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience with sports video editing software (i.e. DVSport or comparable) preferred
- Strong knowledge and understanding of football is required
- Proven experience in filming and video editing with strong technical capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
