Reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, the seasonal Athletic Therapists will be responsible in helping the Athletic Therapy and medical team throughout the term. The candidate will assist in player health and rehabilitation both on and off the field. This position will be a great learning experience for those looking to make a career in professional sports.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support the Athletic Therapy team in daily treatments of the players.
- Support field and sideline coverage during all practices and games.
- Assist in daily maintenance of the clinic including cleaning, organizing, stocking, and inventory.
- Support the Athletic Therapy team with implementation of treatment and rehabilitation programs.
- Support the Strength and Conditioning department with the implementation of injury prevention and return to play programming.
- Maintain injury reporting and documentation to the standards required by the CFL.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:
- Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree in Athletic Therapy, or equivalent, and a comprehensive understanding of athletic performance and rehab. CAT(C) designation is required.
- Previous experience in a professional sports environment will be considered an asset.
- Additional certifications such as CSCS will be considered an asset.
- Ability to meet multiple demands in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion handling sensitive matters involving players.
- Able to effectively work in a team environment within the Human Performance Department
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Availability to work irregular hours and game days.
- Certification Candidates will not be considered for this position.
