BC LIONS FOOTBALL LP – POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Coordinator, Events

Position Type: Full-time, Contract (April-Dec 2025)

Department: Marketing, Game Operations

FUNCTIONS:

To support the coordination of the BC Lions events portfolio.
To provide support in the coordination and execution of facility and game day operations at BC Place Stadium.

WORKS DIRECTLY WITH:

All members of the BC Lions organization and other key contacts, including but not limited to: BC Place Stadium, BC Lions Street Party Activation team, Gameday volunteers, Vendors, pregame talent/performers, club partner activation teams, and all pregame fan experience event suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
EVENTS

Coordinate, the planning and operation of all BC Lions Events. Including but not limited to:
- BC Lions Fan Fest
- Season Kickoff Event
- Draft a Lion
- Viewing Parties
- Orange Friday Night Lights
- STH Events
- Lions Den – Grey Cup Festival
- Locker Room Sale
- Other events as required
Working in collaboration with Game Day & Events Manager, help in the development and execution of events as assigned and distribute event operations documents including site plans, briefing sheets, and workback schedules for all staff including vendors, partners and other key stakeholders.
Collaborate with all other BC Lions departments to ensure all stakeholders, partners, guests and staff needs are met.
Attend and help lead all assigned BC Lions events.
Coordinate with Game & Event Operations Coordinator to align on operational requirements of all events.
Organize and lead fellow staff, and volunteers in the execution of events.
Pick up and transport all necessary equipment, organize delivery or return of rentals

BACKYARD PARTY

Manage pre-game backyard party operations on game days. Act as a liaison between the club, BC Place, and external vendors for the pre-game fan experience.
Coordination of all backyard party operational load-ins and load-outs: including stage & production, talent, pageantry, signage, partnership activations, family activations (inflatables, face painters, activity book and craft station), perimeter fencing, furniture rentals, and all other event operational equipment.
Prepare and distribute backyard party operations documents including site plans, briefing sheets, and workback schedules for all staff including BC Place Stadium and other key stakeholders.
Assist with creating an operations budget, and vision for the backyard party throughout the season. Responsible for managing the budget for pregame talent, stage/ production, site rentals, and operational needs.
Keep a detailed inventory of backyard party and event activation equipment/supplies.

GAME DAY OPERATIONS:

Assist the Game Day Operations Coordinator with responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Stadium setup and strike, including concourse, show offices, radio and volunteer headquarters, signage, and catering.
Contribute to the Game Day Activity Sheets for all staff, including BC Place personnel.
Allocation of radios and earpieces for game day staff.
Assist in the coordination of pre/post-game giveaways with the Club, Partners, BC Place and Volunteers.
Assist in the coordination of game day accreditation.
Assist in the planning of special events on game day. Including but not limited to: Wall of Fame reception, Punt Pass and Kick Finals, BCFHOF reception, and Orange Helmet Awards.
Help organize orientation sessions and appreciation events for volunteers and other game day staff.

OTHER:

All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE)

Education and Experience

Post-secondary education in a related field (Business, Sport Management, Event Planning etc.)
Previous Event and Operations experience.
Experience working in a professional office environment would be an asset.
Basic knowledge of football and the Canadian Football League.

Ability to lift more than 50 lbs.
Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license.
Access to a personal vehicle is an asset (not required).
Some evenings and weekends during the season, as well as specific event-related dates, will be required.
