Terry and Kim Pegula purchased the Buffalo Bills in 2014 and are only the second owners in the team’s history. Terry Pegula rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most respected leaders in the energy industry, and the Pegula’s are one of the few professional sports owners to operate franchises in multiple sports, also owning the Buffalo Sabres (NHL), Buffalo Bandits (NLL), and Rochester Americans (AHL).

POSITION SUMMARY

The Stadium Operations intern will play a vital role in preparing multiple facilities for every-day use of the Buffalo Bills along with hosting home games at Highmark Stadium.  This position will also be responsible to assist with events hosted on the Buffalo Bills properties. 

The purpose of this internship is to provide a valuable “hands on experience” within facility and operations in a professional sports setting.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with various projects/initiatives as directed from Stadium Operations Management
  • Perform quality control cleaning and maintenance checks at all facilities
  • Manage work lists for game day preparation
  • Assist with game day set-up for on field production
  • Assist in overseeing outside contractors for various projects or tasks
  • Provide support to department staff for maintenance, painting, projects, etc.
  • Assist with storage room organization and structure
  • Assist in snow removal as necessary
  • Provide feedback to Stadium Operations management group regarding efficiency improvements regarding daily operating procedures
  • Assist with implementation of work order software
  • Assist trades staff with general maintenance tasks (i.e. HVAC/plumbing, carpentry, electrical)
  • Assist with set up of various events on site
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Season interns will be required in most cases to be a recent college graduate or have the ability to take the semester off to participate in this internship
  • Work hours for this internship will be 28-32 hours/week (schedule TBD)
  • Must be able to work gamedays for home games
  • Desire to work in a sports setting, preferably with a department of facility operations
  • Previous experience in grounds, facilities, or labor positions preferred
  • Positive attitude, team player, and excellent work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and web-based applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work a minimum of twenty-eight (28) hours per week
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, as needed
  • Must be able to work home games
  • Ability to work in all weather, stand long periods of time, go up and down stairs and lift up to 50 lbs

Compensation:  This role pays $18.00 an hour
