Company Background

Founded in 1959, the Buffalo Bills are one of the most storied franchises in the National Football League (NFL). The Bills have consecutively participated in the postseason for the last seven year, as well as won two American Football League (AFL) Championships (1964-1965), and an NFL record four straight AFC Championships (1990-1993) that included four trips to the Super Bowl. Located in Orchard Park, New York, the Bills are proud to be a member of the Western New York Community for more than 55 years.

Terry and Kim Pegula purchased the Buffalo Bills in 2014 and are only the second owners in the team’s history.  Terry Pegula rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most respected leaders in the energy industry, and the Pegulas are one of the few professional sports owners to operate franchises in multiple sports, also owning the Buffalo Sabres (NHL), Buffalo Bandits (NLL) and Rochester Americans (AHL).

Summary

The Graphic Designer will assist in producing derivative graphics for marketing campaigns, digital and social media posts, traditional advertisements, internal administrative communication materials and more for the Buffalo Bills. This designer will work closely with other Creative team members and departments as layouts, copy and content are finalized before assets are released. This position will report to the Director of Design.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Under direction of direct supervisor, will perform job duties, provide support and service in all software applications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and execution of a wide variety of deliverables including, but not limited to, print advertisements, logo development, web advertisements, infographics, presentations, and social media content. Other opportunities may present based on need.
  • Must be able to design sophisticated multi-layered graphics
  • Must exhibit the necessary traits of a life-long learner; staying sharp and evolving with Design software as it continuously advances, especially in the Sports Entertainment field.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Marketing, Ticketing, Merchandising, and Corporate Partnerships as well as other departments to develop and execute designs based on supplied Brand and League guidelines.
  • Must be able to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced work environment, respond quickly and calmly to client requests.
  • Must be able to respond in a positive & professional manor to constructive criticism/critique and work well in a team-based setting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have successfully obtained any of the following: B.A. or B.F.A. in Graphic or New Media Design, Digital Media Arts or comparable degree at the collegiate or post-graduate level with at least 2-4 years’ experience in the Creative field
  • Solid digital portfolio of professional-grade, high-caliber work, which exhibits great competency in modern Design principles, versatility, and creativity.
  • Working knowledge of print production methods as well as best practices for optimized digital asset delivery
  • Above-average competency in Adobe Creative Cloud Software, most critically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Above-average competency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)
  • Must be willing/available to work some non-traditional hours; including nights and weekends as demand dictates.

  • Some knowledge of UI/UX Design, Motion Graphics (After Effects) and 3D Software (C4D) are a plus.

Compensation

  • The role is non-exempt and the anticipated annualized salary range is between $50,000 - $60,000 . Salary will be based on the level role offered in accordance with candidate’s experience, qualifications and internal team equity.
