Reports to: Manager, Football Analytics

Location: Arizona Cardinals (Tempe, AZ) and State Farm Stadium (Glendale, AZ)

Format: In-person

Duration: 2024 NFL Training Camp Mid-July - August

Job Summary:

The Arizona Cardinals Training Camp Assistant – Analytics is sponsored by the Analytics Department located at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Facility in Tempe, AZ. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for committed, hardworking, and dedicated individuals that are seeking to gain a future career in Systems Development, including first-hand experience in a National Football League (NFL) environment. The Training Camp Assistant – Analytics assists in analyzing large quantities of football data to develop actionable insights for decision-makers.

 

Primary Job Duties:

The Training Camp Assistant – Analytics will have the daily responsibilities, without limitation, to include the following:

  • Analyze large quantities of football data to develop actionable insights for decision-makers
  • Work with other members of the Football Analytics & Research Department to create and maintain tools and resources for coaches, scouts, and other staff members within the front office
  • Utilize statistical programming, machine learning, and data visualization skills to complete various projects to help club better understand trends in both professional and college football
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Currently enrolled in or graduated from a bachelor program in statistics, data science, mathematics, or other related fields.
  • Experience: Basic knowledge and concepts of R, Python, or similar statistical programming languages.
  • Basic knowledge and concepts SQL preferred.
  • Eager to grow a future career in Football Analytics and Research.
  • Ability to maintain high energy and a positive attitude on a team united toward the common goals of championship-level performance.
  • Effective communication skills with all individuals across the organization.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity around professional athlete data in their work environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; hours may vary depending on business needs.
  • Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check.
