Job Summary:
The Customer Data & Insights Analyst plays a critical role in connecting customer data across systems to drive marketing effectiveness, revenue growth, and customer engagement. This role serves as a strategic partner to Marketing, Sales, and Business Intelligence by translating complex data into actionable insights and scalable solutions.
This individual will bridge the gap between frontend systems (e.g., Salesforce, Marketing Cloud) and backend data architecture, ensuring that customer data is accessible, accurate, and actionable across the organization.
Primary Job Duties:
The Senior Analyst, Customer Data & Insights will have the daily responsibilities including, without limitation, of the following:
- Customer Data Strategy & Integration
- Work across multiple data systems and the data warehouse to support a unified customer data strategy
- Write complex SQL queries across integrated data sources to enable analysis, segmentation, and activation
- Support system integration efforts and contribute to the development of a single, connected view of the customer
- Develop a deep understanding of the organization's customer data ecosystem, including ticketing, CRM, marketing platforms, and third-party data sources
- Integrate and analyze data from systems such as Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, ticketing platforms, merchandise, and league-provided datasets
- Partner with Data Engineering to support data pipelines, transformations, and data model design
- Support the development and maintenance of a unified customer view across systems
- Marketing Partnership & Enablement
- Act as the primary data liaison to the Marketing team
- Support the creation and optimization of audiences and data extensions within Marketing Cloud
- Translate marketing needs into scalable data solutions (segmentation, targeting, campaign measurement)
- Enable self-service marketing capabilities while providing SQL support for more complex use cases
- Ensure data is structured to support efficient, drag-and-drop campaign execution
- Salesforce Data Understanding
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of Salesforce data structures (objects, relationships, key fields)
- Collaborate with the CRM Administrator on data architecture and enhancements
- Extract, interpret, and validate Salesforce data via backend systems (SQL/data warehouse)
- Analytics & Reporting
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI to support Marketing, Sales, and leadership
- Deliver insights on customer behavior, campaign performance, and revenue opportunities
- Support Sales through reporting, enrichment insights, and training on available data tools
- Communicate insights at both high-level strategic and detailed operational levels
- Cross-Functional Systems Knowledge
- Serve as a subject matter expert on how various platforms contribute to the customer data ecosystem, including:
- Data collection tools (e.g., forms, sweepstakes platforms)
- Marketing and engagement tools
- Data enrichment providers
- Help evaluate and integrate new tools and data sources
- Document data flows and system interactions to improve transparency and usability
- Ad Hoc Analysis & Data Support
- Write complex SQL queries to support business questions, marketing initiatives, and operational needs
- Support the preparing and validating of datasets for modeling
- Assist with troubleshooting data discrepancies and ensuring data quality
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preference for major in Data Analytics, Statistics, or Economics
- Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role, 3 -5 years of experience preferred
- Strong SQL skills including the ability to write complex queries, joins, and transformations across multiple data sources
- Experience working with CRM systems, Salesforce preferred
- Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud concepts such as data extensions, segmentation, and campaign execution
- Experience with data visualization tools, preferably Power BI
- Strong understanding of relational data models and data warehousing concepts
- Ability to translate business needs into data requirements and solutions
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with marketing, sales, or customer analytics data
- Familiarity with data integration and pipeline concepts (ETL/ELT processes)
- Experience with customer identity resolution or "single customer view" concepts
- Exposure to tools such as data enrichment platforms, form capture tools, or customer engagement platforms
- Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including a background check
