Summary:
The Arizona Cardinals are looking for a strategic and collaborative Program Manager, Civics Engagement to lead and expand the Civics Matters Arizona programming. This individual will manage a comprehensive engagement strategy across three core pillars: the App/Website, the Civics Matters Trip, and the Civics Matters Combine, with the goal of engaging over 40,000 Arizona students in the first year. This position will be responsible for program operations, strategic partnerships, outreach, and evaluation, helping grow the initiative's footprint statewide.
Primary Job Duties:
The Program Manager, Civics Engagement will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, to the following:
- Design and propose programming and implementation strategies for all Civics Matters initiatives.
- Manage the development, functionality, and content of the Civics Matters App/Website, including integration of learning modules and essay requirements working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Establish metrics for program impact, school participation, and student engagement.
- Ensure eligibility and accountability standards are met for all trip participants and app users
- Supervise Civics Engagement Program Coordinator.
- Manage planning and execution of the annual Civics Matters Combine, overseeing event structure (keynotes, breakouts, and tracks for middle school, high school, and teachers).
- Develop annual program calendar and oversee logistics for the Civics Matters Trip, including coordination with Close Up, transportation, schools, and other partners.
- Lead statewide outreach to schools, teachers, districts, and educational nonprofits-especially Title I and underserved communities.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with civic education groups, government offices, nonprofits, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to drive effective communications, email campaigns, and engagement through the Civics Matters platform.
- Oversee the school application and waitlist process to ensure equitable access and participation.
- Oversee auditing of essay submissions and learning module completion.
- Monitor, report, and present on key metrics, evaluations, and stories of impact to internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, public service, youth development, or related field
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in youth or civic engagement programming, preferably in educational settings
- Proven experience managing programs, events, and cross-sector partnerships
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Understanding of Arizona's education landscape and civic learning standards
- Experience with outreach campaigns and digital learning platforms
- Strong communication, organization, and administrative skills
- Passion for civic education, youth engagement, and community outreach
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
- Comfortable representing the Arizona Cardinals in public/community-facing roles
- Self-starter who is energized by people and mission-driven work
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Willingness to travel across Arizona and work occasional nights, weekends, and/or holidays for events; hours will vary depending on business needs
- Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check
