Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will partner with the Vice President, People Operations and General Manager(s) to oversee Human Resources for Craft Culinary Concepts focusing on employee lifecycle management. This position will partner with leadership to ensure the organization's talent needs are met, including recruiting, retention, and performance management. The role is essential in cultivating a positive work environment while ensuring that HR services align with broader organization and people team objectives.
Primary Job Duties:
The Craft Culinary Concepts Manager, Human Resources role will have the daily responsibilities including, without limitation, to the following:
- Develop, oversee, and report on incident/injury management strategies, ensuring that incidents are addressed effectively, with clear reporting mechanisms in place to ensure compliance, improve processes, and maintain a safe work environment
- Offer guidance and support to employees, helping them navigate workplace processes and enhance their overall experience
- Foster positive employee relations by addressing inquiries and promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Maintain HR Information System (HRIS) records, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting to support HR operations and decision-making
- Perform regular on-site visits to all food and beverage locations to support workforce needs, ensure HR policy compliance, address employee relations matters, and reinforce a consistent, positive workplace culture across all facilities
- Stay up to date on HR compliance and regulatory initiatives, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local laws and reporting requirements
- Oversee various leave of absence and accommodation programs, including FMLA, workers' compensation, and parental leave, ensuring compliance and smooth transitions
- Drive initiatives surrounding strategic Organizational and People Team objectives including the development and implementation of The Craft Way
- Assist with content creation for People Operations Initiatives that align with The Craft Way, such as leadership development and team member website portal
- Available at major events to help answer any questions, concerns, or team member issues that may arise
- Develop and implement creative recruitment strategies to attract a diverse range of both new and experienced talent, while providing a smooth and engaging candidate experience throughout the application and onboarding processes, ensuring they feel fully prepared and excited for their first day
- Oversee People Operations team providing support when needed for administrative tasks, recruiting, onboarding, payroll, etc.
- Ensure responding to employee inquiries, employment verifications, unemployment claims, garnishments, workers compensation claims, etc. within the required timeframe
- Manage the full cycle of recruitment and onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, training, I-9’s, E-Verify, food and beverage requirements, and orientation, while ensuring a smooth offboarding process when necessary
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll including hourly timesheets, salaries, garnishments, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Experience: At least five (5) years of human resources management experience with a strong background in employee relations, compliance, performance management, payroll, employee relations, incident management, and talent development
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Experience with UKG Pro preferred
- Experience in food and beverage, hospitality, and/or events industry
- Experience supporting a healthy culture within an organization to include collaboration across teams and departments
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities that require strong project management, decision-making capabilities, and flexibility
- Can communicate effectively with all individuals across the organization
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity to all HR Related matters and information
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Available to work on event days including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must attain a valid County Food Handler’s Card on file with Craft and in your possession for each event worked
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to eight (8) hours in length
- Ability to lift up to 20-30 pounds
- Ability to work in temperature fluctuations and around excessive noise
- Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check
