Position: Assistant, Systems Developer – Full Time/Temporary/Non-Exempt

Department: Football Operations - Analytics 

Reports to: Director, Football Systems

Location: Arizona Cardinals (Tempe, AZ)

Format: In-person

Duration:  This a six-month position from January 2026 – June 2026

Job Summary:

The Arizona Cardinals Assistant, Systems Developer is sponsored by the Analytics Department located at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Facility in Tempe, AZ. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for committed, hardworking, and dedicated individuals that are seeking to gain a future career in Systems Development, including first-hand experience in a National Football League (NFL) environment.

 

Primary Job Duties:

The Assistant, Systems Developer will have the daily responsibilities, without limitation, to include the following:

  • Assist the Football Analytics Department in the design and development of football technology projects
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards
  • Collaborate with scouts and football staff to gather requirements and design scalable, maintainable, and efficient software systems
  • Manage workflows, code, and data within the Football Analytics Department
  • Assist with various application development projects within Football Analytics
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity to all football related matters and information
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree, or pending graduation, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related Fields
  • Experience: Modern web development experience. HTML/CSS and/or front-end JavaScript frameworks
  • .NET/C# or other Object-Oriented programming language experience
  • Microsoft SQL Server development or SQL based relational databases experience
  • Experience with Javascript data visualization libraries preferred, not required
  • Experience with Git, Github, or Azure Devops preferred, not required
  • Mobile application development experience preferred, not required
  • Experience Building and deploying cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred, not required
  • Experience with designing data schemas and APIs preferred, not required
  • Demonstrated ability to support a healthy culture within an organization where employees feel valued, engaged, and united toward the common goals of championship-level performance
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities that require strong project management and decision-making capabilities and flexibility
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Accuracy and attention to detail required
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; hours may vary depending on business needs.
  • Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check.
