Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator | Boston Brigade

The Boston Brigade is seeking qualified Marketing & Community Relations Coordinators to assist with community engagement and brand activation efforts in the Greater Boston area, in preparation for the Inaugural 2024 season of the American Flag Football League. This internship is for full-time students looking for college/university credits while gaining valuable experience in the professional sports world.

About the Role:

Working in partnership with the Director of Marketing & Community Relations of the Boston Brigade, the Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator will provide valuable support in various marketing efforts, with an engaged focus on community effort and activation tasks. A successful Coordinator will be reliable and trustworthy, results-driven, creative, and can work both independently and as a team.

The ideal individual will have the ability to research various topics, exercise good judgment in various situations, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be organized, and be a self-starter. The ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities is imperative. The Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Principal Responsibilities:

Setup and breakdown of Boston Brigade assets at various events around the state of Massachusetts to increase fan exposure and loyalty
Represent the Boston Brigade as brand ambassadors, educating fans about the team and ticketing opportunities, conducting fan surveys, prize giveaways, etc.
Attend events with professional athletes, coaches, and other members of the organization as representatives of the brand
Research and contact various events occurring around the state, which align with the goals of the Boston Brigade marketing team
Develop and implement various marketing strategies and efforts across various domains (grassroots, digital, etc.
Research and contact potential non-profit organizations to develop mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships
Develop and maintain the Boston Brigade marketing calendar of campaigns, activations, and events
Draft copy for advertising, marketing, and promotional needs
Work with the ticket sales team on ticket initiatives, promo packages, group, and single game ticket
Work with both the marketing and sales teams to develop, organize, and expand a Master Leads list for marketing and sales efforts
Develop working relationships with various members of Boston media and press, to further expand the reach of Boston Brigade information and updates across the state, with a primary focus on the Greater Boston area

Requirements:

Must reside in Greater Boston, MA. area
Must have a reliable vehicle, with the ability to attend at least 1-2 events per week as scheduled
Must have a personal laptop with the ability to access Wi-Fi and Google apps, and have a reliable battery life.
Ability to attend all gamedays during the season (May 11, 2024, and June 1, 2024); as the season begins in Spring and carries into the Summer
Ability to present a capstone project upon the completion of the 2024 season, displaying understanding/mastering of the marketing/community relations department within the professional sports industry, for college credit within their respective graduate/undergraduate programs

Ways to Stand Out:

Ability to create graphics using Adobe Photoshop (please provide an updated portfolio of your work)
Ability to capture video and edit using Adobe Premiere Pro (please provide an updated portfolio of your work)
Ability to capture video and/or photography, using personal equipment at various Boston Brigade events (please provide an updated portfolio of your work)

MUST HAVES:

Do you have a valid driver's license?
Are you located in the Greater Boston area? Candidates from outside of the state will not be considered for this internship.
Are you able to provide your own laptop, with access to WiFi and Google Apps and a reliable battery life?

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

More than a year experience in Marketing
Comfortable working in a hybrid setting
Available for the whole AFFL 2024 Season (Season ends mid-June)
