HR Manager, Talent Acquisition

 

Kings Island is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager, Talent Acquisition to lead all aspects of recruiting and staffing for one of the region's premier entertainment destinations. In this highly visible leadership role, you will oversee full-time and seasonal talent acquisition strategies, workforce planning, onboarding programs, and staffing partnerships to ensure Kings Island attracts, hires, and retains top talent. This position plays a critical role in supporting park operations through innovative recruiting initiatives, employment branding, and exceptional candidate and team member experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute park-wide talent acquisition strategies to support both seasonal and full-time staffing needs across all operating divisions.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including workforce planning, sourcing, advertising, applicant tracking, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Develop innovative recruiting campaigns and employment branding initiatives that position Kings Island as an employer of choice within the region.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee recruiting events, job fairs, campus outreach efforts, community partnerships, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local schools, colleges, universities, workforce agencies, community organizations, and other recruitment sources.
  • Oversee the International Student Work and Travel Program, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, transportation, housing coordination, and team member support.
  • Partner with park leadership to forecast staffing needs and develop proactive recruiting strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Monitor talent acquisition metrics, analyze hiring trends, and provide regular staffing reports, insights, and recommendations to park leadership.
  • Ensure all recruiting, hiring, and onboarding practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Maintain organizational charts, job descriptions, position requisitions, and staffing plans.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Talent Acquisition and seasonal HR support teams to deliver exceptional hiring and onboarding experiences.
  • Manage and continuously improve the team member onboarding process to ensure compliance, engagement, and operational readiness.
  • Provide support across broader Human Resources functions, including employee relations, engagement initiatives, training programs, recognition activities, and special projects.
  • Partner with Operations and HR leadership to enhance workforce retention, team member satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee the park's team member uniform operation, including inventory management, ordering, distribution, and process improvements.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success leading high-volume recruiting and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of talent acquisition best practices, sourcing strategies, employment branding, and candidate experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and recruitment technologies. Experience with any of the following applications is preferred: iCIMS, LinkedIn, Indeed and Dayforce
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and other applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.

 

License or Certification

Valid driver's license required.

 

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruiting, Human Resources, or related fields.
  • Experience leading high-volume, seasonal, hospitality, entertainment, retail, tourism, or service-industry recruiting operations strongly preferred.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Equivalency

  • Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the above requirements.
