The role will initially focus on Workday Financials, Procurement, and related Finance processes, with the potential to expand into broader Workday and Enterprise Applications capabilities as the organization's application portfolio evolves.  This position will partner closely with the Workday Application Administrator/Platform Lead, business process owners, super users, and implementation/support partners.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Strategic Partnership: Act as a dedicated daily partner to Finance, IT, and other business stakeholders, translating financial policies, controls, and operational requirements into technical specifications.*

  • Requirements and Future-State Design:  Serve as the functional product owner for Workday Financials; manage intake, evaluate enhancement requests based on strategic value and risk, and maintain a long-term roadmap for system improvements.*

  • Release Management: Lead functional coordination for biannual Workday releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, and feature adoption planning.*

  • Process Optimization: Drive functional configuration activities and continuous improvement initiatives, prioritizing standard Workday functionality over custom solutions.*

  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Oversee the end-to-end testing lifecycle, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing, ensuring system changes meet financial and operational controls.*

  • Empowerment & Support: Provide post go-live support, training, and change management to Finance users to drive platform adoption and user proficiency.*

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday Financials experience with direct configuration ownership. Must have participated in at least one full-lifecycle Workday implementation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Workday Pro certification in Financial Management, Procurement, or Adaptive Planning preferred but not required.

  • This position does not offer visa sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep proficiency in Core Financials: GL, AP, AR, Treasury, Fixed Assets, Banking and Settlement.

  • Strong Procurement module experience: requisitioning, PO management, 3-way match, supplier portal, and spend authority configuration. 

  • Prior Budgeting & Planning experience or a demonstrated, active commitment to mastering the platform.

  • Experience supporting ERP business process configuration, security domain management, and data loads.

  • Experience supporting post-go-live ERP environments through at least one bi-annual release cycle, including regression testing coordination and feature adoption decisions.

  • Proven experience working with external implementation partners: ability to manage the SI relationship, challenge recommendations, and protect HE&R’s interests in design decisions.

  • Highly self-motivated and results-driven, comfortable working independently on complex projects but thriving in a collaborative, Agile environment.

  • Expert-level skills in process mapping and project management tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to finance teams.

  • Experience with Workday Accounting Center.

  • Experience with Workday implementation or transformations.

  • Experience with integrations and enterprise application ecosystems.

  • Workday Pro certification in Financial Management, Procurement, or Adaptive Planning 

  • Proficient in working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time

  • Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information.
