Join the team at Hersheypark Camping Resort, campground located a few miles down the road from Hersheypark amusement park that features log and deluxe cabins, tent sites, and partial and full-hookup sites.

The Recreation Coordinator at the Hersheypark Camping Resort is responsible for creating and hosting children and family activities.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Planning, promoting, and conducting all activities and events such as children and family games, campfire socials, crafts, etc.*

  • Maintaining all work areas so they are organized, neat, and clean*

  • Maintaining and issuing recreational equipment and facilities*

  • Collecting fees that are associated with events*

  • Assisting other departments as necessary

  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • In accordance with Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse), and Fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI), as a condition of continued employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Child care and customer service experience preferred

  • Must be friendly, upbeat, work well with other employees, and be able to interact with our guests in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional people skills and personable interaction with individuals of all ages

  • Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

  • Professional image representative of property image

  • Must be organized and able to multitask while prioritizing job tasks and assignments

  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times

Job Demands:

  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand (for up to eight hours at a time), walk, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, and the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level, and lift up to 20 pounds without assistance

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, with shifts starting as early as 9AM and ending as late as 11PM, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be able to work in a combination of indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather
