Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Preparing walls for painting or papering
-
Estimating and ordering materials
-
Painting walls, woodwork, doors, furniture; painting exterior windows, doors, handrailings, etc

Hanging wallpaper
-
Erecting scaffolding, ladders, etc.

Assuming responsibility for all equipment.

Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools is required
-
Assisting engineering personnel as required and all other duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications:
-
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
-
High school education or equivalent required.
-
Three or more years of experience as a painter and paperhanger required.
- Must have a valid driver's license
-
This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test.

A written test will be given at the time of the interview. A hands-on test may be required to complete the interview process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to communicate well both verbally and written.

Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
Job Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

Normal working hours: 7am-3:30pm, 3-11:30pm, 11pm-7:30am. Must be flexible in working nights, weekends or holidays and in responding to emergencies after hours.

Must be able to climb and work at heights 50 feet.
-
Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
-
Must wear a respirator to avoid paint fumes.
-
Must be able to climb ladders and work overhead for extended periods.
-
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and close surroundings.

Position subject to outdoor work, seasonal temperature variations, and will include snow removal.

This is a union position, and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet schedule requirements, which will most likely require working flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet operational demands.
