This position serves as the direct manager of the Electrician and HVAC trades for Hersheypark, Historic Hersheypark Arena, and Hersheypark Stadium and assists in construction, facilities, and rides maintenance management as assigned. This position is primarily responsible for all electrical systems on rides, buildings, lighting, air conditioning and ventilation systems, food service equipment, park sound systems, assisting engineering on design and installation, and the location of underground utilities.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Schedule and supervise the daily operations of the hourly electrician crew. Lead, support, coach, counsel, mentor, and develop front line staff in accordance with Entertainment Complex standards. Coordinate the use of outside contractors as needed.*

  • Prepare monthly work schedules and crew job assignments and adjust the crew schedule. Direct and oversee overtime work, approve time off requests, and discuss employee performance with Shop Steward and upper Management.*

  • Order supplies required to complete an approved job assignment by purchasing parts or other materials on behalf of crew members and/or MRO buyer. Assist in the creation of the annual budget.*

  • Inspect buildings, rides, and other structures to allow for planning and completion of preventative maintenance.*

  • Identify equipment problems and/or potential health and safety hazards and implement procedures to take appropriate action and arrive at proper measures to correct. Ensure all employees follow safety policies and procedures.*

  • Participate in department Manager on Duty rotation, complete and document paperwork, and assist as needed or required with any aspect of Hersheypark, Hersheypark Arena, and Hersheypark Stadium operations.*

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in electrical construction/industrial/maintenance field/preferably in the Amusement Industry, as well as 7 years verifiable trade experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License. Able to operate a manual transmission.

  • Completion of high school or GED

  • Post-Employment - Certify as a State Ride Inspector

  • This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of shop machines; hand tools; buildings, electrical and mechanical materials and procedures; facilities management; electrical estimating; electrical construction; electrical maintenance; industrial process controls, HVAC; commercial lighting; public address systems; medium voltage (15KV) switch gears; and VFDs.

  • Ability to read engineering blueprints and specifications, work with office information systems, software, and equipment, and reason and analyze information and data.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.

  • Ability to handle conflict and solve problems with confidence, professionalism, and impartiality.

  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with people of various backgrounds and abilities. Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Working knowledge of all government regulations, ADA requirements, and OSHA regulations as they relate to areas of responsibility.

Ability to work at heights in excess of 300 feet, in all weather conditions and temperatures, and in confined spaces. Ability to wear company supplied safety equipment.
