The Manager, Accounting is responsible for providing comprehensive oversight of key accounting functions, including inventory accounting, cost analysis, financial reporting, indirect taxes and the accounting for capital projects and fixed assets. This role manages the monthly close process for the inventory, fixed asset, and indirect tax areas, while also establishing and maintaining internal controls on accounting processes.
The Manager, Accounting will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and optimization of the Company’s inventory management processes.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Oversee the month-end close process for the inventory, fixed asset, and indirect tax areas monthly, ensuring accuracy of reconciliations and timely preparation of all related deliverables.

Establish and maintain internal controls on accounting processes.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline workflows and drive continuous improvement. Strengthen end-to-end inventory processes and reporting and analyze inventory for potential excess and obsolete reserves.

Partner with operations teams to understand product costs, variance drivers, and optimize inventory management practices.

Provide guidance on capital projects and fixed asset accounting.

Oversee the Company's indirect tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filing of sales and use tax, parking tax, amusement tax, hotel occupancy taxes, real estate taxes, and unclaimed property returns.

Provide strategic oversight for capital spending tracking, tax research, tax budgets, and governmental sales tax audits.

Train, supervise and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure their success and professional growth.

Support external audit processes, including providing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors as needed.

Qualifications:

18 years of age or older
-
Bachelor’s degree - Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Management. MBA a plus.

Minimum of 7 years of related accounting/finance experience.

Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

Must have a valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of US GAAP.

Ability to communicate and advocate accounting positions.

Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, and the ability to use these tools to create efficiencies.

Experience with financial accounting software and reporting tools.

Demonstrated analytical skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
