As an Internal Audit Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the auditing profession. Interns are engaged in providing our employees and guests with exceptional customer service and successfully executing internal audit testing of operational, compliance, and financial areas throughout Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and is located at the Press Building in Hershey, PA.

Job Duties:

  • Conducting audit testing procedures and preparing work papers which document work performed and conclusions
  • Assisting in the identification of risks and related controls
  • Analyzing large volumes of data using common tools such as Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Performing special projects that may involve gathering of information, conducting analysis, preparing files, etc.
  • Preparing draft audit reports based on the above audit procedures for review by corporate internal audit management
  • Providing meaningful and useful recommendations on audit findings and observations
  • Creating summary reports or trend analyses as requested
  • Performing related administrative duties such as data entry, flow charting, scanning, etc.
  • Preparing and presenting status reports to corporate internal audit management on a regular basis
  • Functioning as a team player and working collaboratively with both internal and external customers, as necessary
  • Meeting communicated schedules and deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Currently enrolled Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Commitment to accuracy in daily work and other projects
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail are required
  • Innovative and self-motivated to complete tasks
  • Friendly, upbeat, and able to interact with our guests
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Interact in a professional manner with other employees, process owners, management, and guests. Should be able to develop good working relationships with staff and management
  • Ability to safeguard the company’s confidential and proprietary information
  • Adherence to the highest standards of ethical conduct
  • The following skills/experience are a plus:
    • Knowledge of auditing standards, analytical techniques and internal controls
    • Experience working with data analysis software
    • Highly proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office applications
    • Experience in the retail, food & beverage, and hospitality industry
    • Prior audit internship experience

Job Demands:

  • The work schedule for this position will fall within normal business hours of the Hershey Press Building between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday. However, occasional weekend, holiday, and evening hours may be required on short notice.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week from late-May to mid-August
  • Must be able to work in an office environment and work on a computer for long periods of time
  • Physical requirements include standing, bending, sitting, walking, and communicating
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
