Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.

The Ice Creamologist is responsible for serving up exclusive ice cream creations and delicious shareables in an interactive parlor environment while creating a one-of-a-kind experience for every person who walks in the door.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Prepare ice cream creations and other products following the ice cream parlor standards and procedures quickly and accurately

  • Stock and execute proper rotation of products and complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of chill area

  • Work within all Department of Agriculture guidelines to ensure proper food safety

  • Work as a team to assure constant and consistent quality, service, cleanliness, and value to each customer

  • Maintain knowledge about all products/menus to talk about the ice cream parlor offerings

  • Answer questions and educate the guests on the unique creations available

  • Clean work area, organize, and stock needed items to proactively serve our guests

  • Break down and clean the chill area thoroughly at the end of every day as assigned by a manager or shift leader

  • Work in collaboration with other departments to maintain building standards and respect shared space

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older on the date of applying

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Preferred industry experience

  • Must be able to successfully attend and complete all department training requirements

  • Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and Food & Beverage  guidelines

  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times

  • Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other employees and be able to interact with guests

  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with multiple top 9 allergies - peanuts, tree nuts, etc.

Job Demands:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including morning, evenings, weekends and holidays, with shifts starting as early as 7:00 AM and ending as late as 1:00 AM, in accordance with Child Labor Laws

  • Must be able to work at least 30 hours a week, Memorial Day through Labor Day, and 15 hours a week in the off-season

  • Must be comfortable with exposure to cleaning chemicals

  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time, walk, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, and the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level, and lift up to twenty (20) pounds without assistance

  • Employee must provide proper footwear (all black, non-skid/nonslip sneakers)
