Job Functions:
Operate, monitor, and maintain the HVAC and refrigeration systems for Hersheypark while following all safety policies and procedures and providing good workmanship in a timely manner.
Install, maintain, service, and rebuild HVAC systems, refrigeration units, furnaces, air conditioning units, hood systems, and ventilation equipment used to sustain specified safety and performance standards of rides, buildings, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, etc.
Perform and log preventative maintenance on equipment while ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations and codes.
Assist as needed in all aspects of Hersheypark operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Minimum of two (2) years verifiable trade experience (Vo-tech training will be considered in lieu of one (1) year of experience.)
Must have valid HVAC certification.
Must pass HVAC trade aptitude test.
Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a manual transmission.
This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test.
This position requires successful completion and passing of the post-offer employment physical exam.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of repairing, maintaining, and installing HVAC systems, refrigeration units, furnaces, air conditioning units, hood systems, and ventilation equipment.
Good communication skills and teamwork approach.
Must have the ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
Produce, read, understand, and trouble-shoot diagrams and schematics.
Basic knowledge of computers and their functions.
Job Demands:
Flexible work shifts to meet operational demands; weekends work; during Park season, including overtime when necessary.
Must be able to work at heights in excess of 100 feet.
Must have the ability to lift 80 lbs. safely.
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
Must be extremely cautious and safety conscious at all times.
Must be able to use tools relevant to the jobs and roles assigned.
This is a Union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
