Job Duties:
Follow all safety policies and procedures, provide good workmanship in a timely manner, and complete the installation, maintenance, servicing, and rebuilding of electrical equipment to sustain specified safety and performance standards of all venue and associated electrical systems.
Review, plan, coordinate, and provide all house electrical aspects for the multitude of professional entertainment and sporting events hosted at the venue.
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures.
Troubleshoot and communicate any issues to the team and management in a timely and effective manner. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Assist and train others to install, maintain, or repair electrical equipment. Provide support and venue guidance to engineering firms or outside hired contractors as needed.
Maintain an accurate list of all current and modified switchgear and panel locations and schedules.
Assess whether there is sufficient power available for additions of equipment or power draws and advise where changes could be made, if available, to accommodate additional loads.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Create notifications and follow up on repairs as needed.
Test electrical system and continuity of circuits in electrical writing, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
Service, clean, and inspect equipment periodically following established PMs (Preventative Maintenance). Evaluate and make recommendations to change the PM schedule or contents. Test and maintain the emergency generator and associated equipment in conjunction with the PM service provider.
Lead the maintenance of the venue lighting systems and fixtures including upgrades and replacements as needed. Assist in the design of and make recommendations on types of lighting and requisite electrical equipment.
Maintain electrical cords and all associated equipment in a safe and orderly fashion and ensure required clearances around electric panels and transformers.
Assist with snow removal and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
Must possess High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum of (7) years verifiable electrical trade experience
Must have a valid PA driver's license
Must have the knowledge and ability to pass a trade aptitude test
This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test.
This position requires successful completion and passing of the post-offer employment physical exam.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be extremely cautious and safety conscious at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety, clearance, sequence, and PPE requirements. Adhere to LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures.
Ability to safely operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, hand trucks, lifts, boom lifts etc.
Thorough knowledge of repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical, sound, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment.
Demonstrate the initiative to investigate and offer improvements to venue operation
Ability to determine a bill of materials and submit for approval as required for completion of projects.
Demonstrate good communication skills, problem solving techniques, and a teamwork approach. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must have the ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
Ability to produce, read, understand, and trouble-shoot electrical diagrams and schematics.
Thorough knowledge of wire and conduit sizing for proper amperage loads, bending and installing EMT, rigid conduit, and MC Cable.
Basic knowledge of PLC controls and their functions; AC/DC Motor Drives.
Basic understanding of belts, belt drives, chain drives, gear boxes, and conveyors.
Must be able to use electrician hand tools, pipe and conduit benders (hand and hydraulic), wire pullers, electrical fish, pipe threader, amp meters, voltmeters, etc.
Proficient in the use of Google Suite and Microsoft applications.
Job Demands:
Work from ladders and lifts to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Must be able to work at heights in excess of 100 feet.
Must have the ability to lift 80 lbs. safely.
Must be available to work On Call for a total of 14 days per month.
This is a Union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which may include weekends, holidays, and overtime to meet operational demands.
