Located just minutes from the Park, Hershey Inn & Suites features 130 rooms including 7 suites, complimentary continental breakfast, an indoor pool, arcade, and fitness center.

The General Manager of Hershey Inn & Suites is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and profitability of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and adherence to brand standards. This role involves overseeing all departments, managing staff, and implementing strategies to achieve business objectives.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Oversee all hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage services.*

  • Manage and lead a team of hotel employees to uphold company standards of service and hospitality.*

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize revenue, control costs, and enhance guest satisfaction.*

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and brand standards.*

  • Review daily and weekly financial results, including Daily Revenue Report, PACE Report, Labor Report, Expenses, and Forecast Reports. Ensure results are in line with the budget and are consistent with targeted goals. Create, plan, and maintain capital budgets and direct capital and operational projects. Create yearly operational budgets to include labor, expenses, capital, and R&M projects.*

  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve complaints to ensure a high level of customer service.*

  • Implement and maintain security and safety procedures for guests and employees.*

  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to quality standards.*

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and the local community.*

  • Stay informed of industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement.*

  • Ensure compliance with Department and HE&R operational policies and procedures as well as corporate Risk Management standards (MSDS, HazCom, OSHA, etc.) relating to each department. Maintaining retention records to HE&R standards. *

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 21 years old.

  • Post-Employment - Must obtain Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) Certification.

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in hotel management, 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial performance.

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
