Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Preparing walls for painting or papering

• Estimating and ordering materials

• Painting walls, woodwork, doors, furniture

• Painting exterior windows, doors, hand railings, etc.

• Hanging wallpaper, erecting scaffolding, ladders, etc.

• Assuming responsibility for all equipment.

• Performing all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Technical Schooling or three years of related work experience, in the above trades, required and must be verifiable.

• This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to communicate both verbal and written English.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Must have familiarity in such areas as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

Job Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

• Normal working hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm, 3:00pm to 11:30pm, 11pm to 7:30am. Must be flexible working nights, weekends, holidays, and in responding to emergencies after hours.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.

• Must wear a respirator to avoid paint fumes.

• Must be able to climb ladders and work overhead for extended periods. 

• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and close surroundings.

• Shovel snow and endure cold temperatures for a long period of time.

• This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
