Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):
Follow the preventive maintenance schedule for the Hotel Hershey facility. This would include but not limited to changing water filters, cleaning and sanitizing ice machines, changing air filters/belts/hoses.
Correct and troubleshoot problems in the above areas (this includes an ability to use and understand test equipment, schematic circuits and blueprints and reporting water, electric and gas meters, along with the general maintenance on kitchen equipment, furniture, doors and related hardware, TV’s, stoves and dishwashers (dishwashers will include the ability to repair and troubleshoot water lines, valves and low pressure steam lines)
Respond in a timely and professional manner to guest room and house calls.
Complete shift reports detailing work performed at end of each shift to ensure efficient communication to other team members and supervisor.
Assist with training new team members.
This position also is responsible for general maintenance around The Hotel as required.
Assist with tasks outlined in Maintenance/General II and I in order to gain necessary knowledge to progress.
Assist engineering as required and all other duties as assigned by supervisors
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have a working knowledge of electrical to include ability to use an electric meter to identify the presence of electricity, as well as working knowledge of lock out tag out system.
Must have working knowledge of plumbing to include basic repairs to toilets, faucets and drain lines of tubs/sinks.
Technical schooling or three years related work experience in the above trades required.
Minimum of 1 year work experience in related trade.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to complete Maintenance Basic Training Checklist within four weeks from start date.
Ability to be able to lift 75lbs
Ability to be able to communicate both written and verbal English
Ability to be able to work without close supervision
Hospitality industry experience in a maintenance/facilities field preferred.
Job Demands:
The primary shift for this position is [1st shift, 7AM-3:30PM / 2nd shift, 3 PM-11:30 PM / 3rd Shift, 11PM – 7:30AM], including weekends, holidays and some overtime. Based on operational demands, working other shifts may be required.
This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
Responsible for supplying own hand tools.
Must be able to climb ladders and work overhead for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and very close surroundings.
Position subject to outdoor work, seasonal temperatures and will include snow removal.
