The Housekeeping Manager at Hershey Inn & Suites is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences and adherence to brand standards, while cultivating an inclusive and engaging environment for employees.

Job Duties (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):

  • Conduct Housekeeping interviews as required, following the hiring procedures according to HE&R. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for employees; Identify opportunities for employee development. *

  • Train, motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all Housekeeping personnel according to department and company standard operating procedures. 

  • Prepare schedules and manage productivity to forecast and budget guidelines. *

  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and heart-of-house areas. Ensure compliance with cleanliness and safety standards.

  • Provide support to the team when needed.

  • Ensure compliance with Department and HE&R operational policies and procedures as well as corporate Risk Management standards (MSDS, HazCom, OSHA, etc.) relating to the department. Maintaining retention records to HE&R standards. *

  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with Guest Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants, House Persons and Supervisors. Review opening and closing shift reports, resolving any discrepancies before the end of shift. *

  • Assist in maintaining a regular scheduled cleaning program (i.e. floor care, deep cleaning, mattress rotation, etc.) and maintain a detailed checklist for each position. *

  • Ensure the maintenance and safe operating of all housekeeping equipment; Collaborate with engineering and/or approved vendors on servicing. *

  • Conduct and record weekly, end-of-month inventory of  Department’s guest supplies, quarterly linen, and terry supplies. Oversee the ordering and receiving of such supplies to maintain appropriate inventory PAR levels necessary for efficient operations; Adhere to HE&R Finance SOPs regarding Purchase Orders, Invoicing, and checkbook accounting. *

  • Assist the General Manager in creating the yearly department budget to include labor and related  expenses.*

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.

  • Industry Experience - Hospitality/Tourism

  • Minimum of 4 years supervisory experience.

  • Post-Employment - Must obtain Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) Certification.

  • Completion of high school or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer software including Property Management Software, Microsoft Office applications, and experience using a payroll system.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.

  • Proficient working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time.

  • Strong customer service skills and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
