Director of Group Sales - Hersheypark
Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.
The Director of Group Sales leads and motivates a dedicated team of sales managers while actively managing their own territory to drive revenue across Corporate and Non-Profit segments. The Director will be responsible for spearheading innovative group sales strategies, optimizing pricing models, and identifying new market opportunities to ensure sustained growth and competitive advantage. By collaborating with internal stakeholders and maintaining long-term client relationships, this role plays a critical role in delivering exceptional sales programs and meeting ambitious department goals.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Lead Hersheypark group sales team to develop their markets/territories; find creative ways to develop revenue channels; effectively motivate and challenge sales team to achieve and exceed sales goals.*

Develop and implement effective group sales strategies to guide group sales managers in growing group revenue within their assigned markets/territories.*

Establish new sales strategies reaching new potential customers and/or market segments.

Conduct daily Hersheypark group sales efforts for assigned territory/market segment. Effectively manage sales territory in order to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.

Partner with appropriate stakeholders to develop effective group pricing rates and yield policy that achieves department revenue goals while remaining sensitive to industry competition and dynamics.*

Monitor and evaluate market segmentation analysis and purchase trends. Ensure proper market/segment coverage by each sales team member.*

Manage inventory of available catering space in order to maximize sales. Effectively allocate available resources to generate revenue.*

Establish and maintain effective processes, requirements, and procedures that contribute to successful revenue generation. Ensure leads and inquiries are followed-up promptly and effectively.*

Contribute to strategic sales plan in order to sustain success of sales efforts and continuously grow business past previous sales goals. Assist in development of commission and incentive structures.*

Partner with internal stakeholders throughout the organization to successfully deliver existing and new sales programs.

Review and approve sales contracts and proposals of sales managers. Provide support and guidance to ensure resorts sales team achieves goals.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.

Must have a valid driver's license

Bachelor’s degree

Relevant work experience can be substituted for education - 9 years

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Tourism and Ticketed-event sales are a plus
-
Skilled in the use of Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
