The Hershey Entertainment and Resorts (HE&R) Communications Department is seeking an intern for Summer 2026. The college-level student will learn about communications and public relations through various mediums. This internship will afford the hired candidate the opportunity to work across many areas of HE&R, including the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex, The Hotel Hershey, Dining in Hershey, corporate services including Hershey Jobs, and more.

Job Functions:

  • Develop written materials including, but not limited to, media pitches, social media posts, media alerts and blog posts for Stories.HersheyPA.com, etc.
    Research industry trends, competitors and relevant brands in communications disciplines, including:
    • Traditional public relations
    • Social media content and engagement
    • Blogger/Influencer relations
    • Internal/employee communications
  • Capture and edit photo and video content for multiple social media channels.
  • Support Communications team members with developing media itineraries, coverage reports, media tracking and more.
  • Assist with the organization and execution of special events and media opportunities.
  • Help develop plans for seasonal content, including social media posts and blog articles.
  • Attend media events, as needed, with the team.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and, as appropriate, training opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be entering either sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate education in Fall 2026, majoring in Communications/Journalism, English, Public Relations, or a related field of study. Recent college graduates may be considered.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must show interest and demonstrate strong writing, speaking, editing, content creation and research skills.
  • Must understand and know how to use Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube with an enthusiasm for emerging platforms.
  • Must show interest in content creation, including photography and video. 
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to multitask and be detail-oriented.
  • Passion for travel, hospitality and learning about communications practices.
  • Must have a general understanding of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company and Hershey The Sweetest Place On Earth. 

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week from mid-May through mid-August (max of 17 weeks total).
  • Company coordinated housing is available for this opportunity. If utilized, a weekly housing fee of $160 per week, inclusive of utilities and limited transportation, will be automatically deducted from students’ biweekly paychecks. Upon commitment to employee housing, HE&R will charge a $180 housing fee, inclusive of a refundable $160 housing deposit and a nonrefundable $20 insurance waiver fee.
