Be part of the opening team at Hershey Social Restaurant + Bar, downtown Hershey’s newest restaurant and bar. Located near the iconic intersection of Cocoa and Chocolate Avenue, Hershey Social features bold flavors, signature cocktails, and over-the-top desserts inspired by Hershey’s chocolate roots.

This position is responsible for greeting guests and serving beverages at Hershey Social Restaurant and Bar.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Welcome guests immediately upon seating  

  • Use acquired menu item knowledge to offer suggestions, answer questions, and anticipate guests' needs  

  • Visually assure age identification is legitimate, and practice responsible beverage service with all guests  

  • Take drink/food orders and enter them on a POS register  

  • Lift small and large trays in order to serve food/drinks for our guests  

  • Maintain guests’ needs throughout their dining experience by removing china, trash, and refilling beverages  

  • Prepare, present, and receive payment for guests’ checks  

  • Maintain beverage needs of orders for the service bar  

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area; other duties as assigned.  

  • Train all new employees on restaurant standards and systems  

  • Maintain a positive attitude and drive the shift  

  • Assist all other employees when they are in need of help  

  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality  

  • Assist management in keeping training tools and materials up to date  

  • Maintain pars for drink batches

  • Maintain drink recipe knowledge 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older  

  • Must have at least 1 year of bartender experience  

  • Must have at least 2 years of full-service restaurant experience as a server and/or bartender 

  • Certified trainer or obtain certification within 90 days as a condition of employment  

  •  Certified RAMP certification within 90 days as a condition of employment  

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Must demonstrate good attendance  

    • Must demonstrate sound decision-making  

    • Organizational skills and the ability to multitask  

    • Ability to read, write, and perform addition/subtraction calculations  

    • Ability to remember abbreviations and menu items  

    • Must be highly proficient in menu items and descriptions  

    • Ability to work independently without close supervision  

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment  

    •  Ability to use the POS register, slice, chop, and operate equipment  

      Job Demands:

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

      • Flexible schedule required with availability for any shift, including days, evenings, split shifts, weekends and holidays  

      • Proper footwear must be provided by employee  

      • Physical requirements include walking and standing most of the shift, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 25 pounds 

      • This is a part-time year year-round position. The working schedule for this position may include days, evenings, weekends, & holidays based on operational needs.
