The Associate Art Director supports the alignment of priorities, creative vision, and campaign strategies across our iconic brands, including Hersheypark, The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge, The Spa At The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Bears, and more. This role guides the creative process by contributing ideas, providing feedback, and assisting in the development of high-quality visual content in partnership with designers, copywriters, and marketers.

Job Functions:

  • Support the Creative Director in maintaining alignment on the creative vision, campaign strategy, and overall brand objectives. *

  • Contribute to brand development, including logo design, brand guidelines, and the creation of marketing assets. *

  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and creative teams to develop and execute strategies that enhance brand awareness and engagement. *

  • Conceptualize and execute innovative campaigns that effectively convey the essence of our brands. *

  • Demonstrate leadership within the creative team by contributing solutions, sharing feedback, and supporting a collaborative workflow. *

  • Provide guidance and design feedback to designers and copywriters, supporting team development and creative output. *

  • Provide pre-production planning and on-set art direction for photography and video shoots, ensuring visual consistency and high-quality asset capture for resorts, food & beverage, and products. *

  • Oversee the design and production of marketing materials, including paid media, digital assets, print collateral, signage, and retail/merchandise packaging. *

  • Drive the visual strategy for on-property environments and guest-facing experiences, ensuring a cohesive brand presence beyond standard print and digital media. *

  • Manage and prioritize multiple creative projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and brand standards. *

  • Hands-on design execution during peak seasons or high-volume periods, contributing specialized skills such as custom illustration or advanced photo compositing to elevate high-profile campaigns. *

  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support creative alignment and solve design challenges. *

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design to continually elevate creative output. *

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school or GED 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Industry Experience - Amusement Park, Hospitality/Tourism, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related creative field

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related creative field

  • Must have at least 3 years of direct management experience 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time

  • Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in the amusement park, entertainment, or hospitality sectors is a strong plus

  • Demonstrated success in a senior designer, associate art director, or similar creative leadership role

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality visual work and innovative campaigns

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience providing feedback and creative direction to designers or copywriters

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with collaborative tools like Figma

  • Strong project and time management skills; ability to juggle multiple deadlines without compromising creative quality

  • Up to date on design trends, tools, and best practices, with a growth mindset and eagerness to bring fresh ideas
