Position Overview:
The Washington Nationals and The Aspire Group seek a teachable, positive and passionate individual who is committed to becoming a sports sales and development industry leader. The associate should be passionate about and committed to preserving a culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees. 
 
Sales Consultant will primarily be responsible for prospecting and qualifying leads to sell Season and Flex Packages. New Business will be generated mostly from outbound 
phone calls, and in some cases face-to-face meetings or presentations will be made. The Consultant should be passionate about and committed to preserving a culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Focus to sell Season Tickets, Flex Ticket Packages and other seating.  
  • Generate qualified leads and maintain a continuous pipeline of potential clients through prospecting and implementing strategies to maximize outreach including text and email.
  • Make at least 80-100 outbound calls per day.
  • Service the inbound ticket sales phone line (202-675-NATS) and the Ticket Finder. ticketing software in an effort to “sell” and “upsell” conventional fans into packages.
  • Service the “Chat with a Representative” website click-to-chat software.
  • Work with Nationals liaison to develop and share resources needed to pitch products.
  • Grow sales significantly each week by adding new business leads to pipeline.
  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals while exceeding client expectations in value and customer service.
  • Maintain computerized records of all prospects and customers within the database.
  • Flexible work schedule. 
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
 
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Desire to grow a career in the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Previous sales experience is helpful, but not required. 
  • Previous customer service or retail experience a plus; display a genuine desire to help.
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but no required.
  • Previous experience working in the Washington metropolitan area is preferred, but not necessary.  
  • Excellent communication, presentation and listening skills with a high attention to detail. 
  • Professional approach that results in a level of trust and respect with internal stakeholders, maintaining a team-first attitude that ensures team goals are achieved. 
  • Ability to work well with others and comfortable taking initiative.
  • Ability to encourage collaboration, flexibility, equity and inclusion that enables colleagues to contribute to their full potential, feel valued, and supported.
  • Availability to work variable hours, as needed or requested by the Nationals. 
  •  Willingness to relocate for potential growth opportunities in the future.

Compensation: Competitive base pay with the opportunity to earn commissions upon meeting or exceeding ticket sales goals.
