THE RUNDOWN 

Playfly Sports is looking for a Consultant, Sales and Service to join our team at Ball State University.  

 

Consultants act as the primary liaison between our current client base and Ball State Athletics Department, are responsible for renewing and growing all season ticket accounts and generating new business through upselling, cross selling, and referrals. The Consultant revenue will be generated primarily from outbound phone calls. This role would be a fit for those with a desire to start and grow a career in the sports ticket sales industry or collegiate athletics. These calls will be supplemented with email marketing, face-to-face presentations, and in-arena/stadium tours. Additional duties include handling all forms of inbound communication and being able to address and answer all questions, comments, or concerns, conducting onsite and offsite appointments, and attending season ticket member events for all ticketed university athletics sporting events.  Day-to-day leadership and mentoring of this position will be provided by the Playfly Aspire Leadership. Consultants will receive the tools, programs, and systems necessary to "BE GREAT."    

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH  

  • Sell all ticketed sports, including Football and Men’s/Women’s Basketball, through a full range of products (season tickets, mini plans, group sales, single games, and donations).
  • Conduct outbound sales efforts via phone, email, text, and in-person meetings; with a minimum of 80 calls and 30 fan conversations daily.
  • Service inbound sales inquiries and provide exceptional customer support for all ticketing needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with season ticket holders, premium clients, group leaders, donors, and new prospects.
  • Schedule and execute stadium tours, arena appointments, and off-site presentations to drive revenue and fan engagement.
  • Manage a large portfolio of accounts, focusing on retention, upgrades, and additional sales opportunities.
  • Track interactions and sales activities using the ticketing CRM/database.
  • Collaborate with local businesses and attend networking events to generate leads and sell corporate/group packages.
  • Work home games and events to support sales initiatives and deliver top-tier service to fans.
  • Support ticket sales strategies, promotions, and retention programs to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
  • Experience with Ticketmaster software and Hubspot CRM a plus but not required
  • Experience in ticket sales is preferred but not required
  • Previous customer service or retail sales experience; display a genuine desire to help people.
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication, presentation and listening skills
  • Ability to work well with others and comfortable taking initiative
  • Ability to encourage collaboration, flexibility, equity and inclusion that enables colleagues to contribute to their full potential, feel valued, and supported
  • Ability to work nights and weekends when needed

 

TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   

  • Availability to work outside typical office hours including nights and weekends as needed
  • The work is sedentary in nature
  • Walking, standing, bending and carrying of light office items is required
  • The work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office environment
