About Us
Peak Sports MGMT is a third-party multimedia rights and revenue partner for college athletic departments across the country. In partnership with Wofford Athletics, our team is responsible for driving revenue through corporate partnerships while building strong relationships within the local market.
We are building a high-performance sales organization inside college athletics. That means accountability, ownership, disciplined outreach, and a strong focus on revenue production.
Position Overview
This role sits in college athletics, but it is not a “sports job.” It is a revenue role.
The Director of Sales is responsible for generating corporate partnership revenue for Wofford Athletics through new business development, prospecting, relationship building, and sponsorship sales. This individual will own the sales process from prospecting through closing while developing long-term partnerships that drive revenue growth.
This is an individual contributor role. This position does not include team management responsibilities. Success is measured by personal revenue production, business development activity, and partnership sales performance.
This is not a passive account management role. It is an opportunity for a motivated sales professional to build a market, create opportunities, and directly impact revenue results.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $50,000 annually + uncapped commission on sales you generate
What You’ll Own
- Drive corporate partnership revenue through sponsorship sales
- Generate new business through consistent outbound prospecting, networking, and pipeline development
- Build relationships with local and regional businesses to create long-term partnership opportunities
- Develop customized sponsorship packages that align partner objectives with Wofford Athletics assets
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation and closing
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity, forecasts, and revenue tracking
- Identify new categories, industries, and market opportunities for partnership growth
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful execution and fulfillment of sponsorship agreements
- Contribute to revenue planning, forecasting, and market strategy
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and local business opportunities to support sales growth
- Deliver a high standard of professionalism, communication, and follow-through with clients and partners

This role is a strong fit for candidates with experience in B2B sales, sponsorship sales, business development, advertising sales, media sales, or other revenue-generating environments.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, sponsorship sales, business development, advertising sales, or another revenue-generating role
- Proven track record of generating new business and driving revenue growth
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, build a pipeline, and close business
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with decision-makers and business leaders
- Comfortable operating as an individual contributor with full ownership of personal sales goals, pipeline development, and revenue generation
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results without direct oversight
- Competitive mindset with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tracking tools preferred
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and event days as needed in a college athletics environment
A background in sports is not required. A background in producing results, building relationships, and generating revenue is more important.
