Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Marketing Automation, the Senior Marketing Automation Manager will lead the development and execution of email and SMS strategies that support NCSA’s broader marketing and sales initiatives. This role is responsible for crafting data-driven, customer-centric campaigns that nurture leads and drive enrollment. 

You will leverage customer insights, performance data, and industry best practices to design and optimize outreach across newsletters, workshops, and the sales funnel. A key focus will be enhancing the user experience and ensuring a seamless journey from email to site to conversion. 

This role requires a strategic thinker with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including design, content, and business development—to align marketing automation efforts with organizational goals. Regular reporting and analysis of campaign performance will be essential to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our outreach strategies. 

  

Position Responsibilities:

 

Lead Email Marketing Execution: 

  • Oversee the build, QA, and deployment of omnichannel marketing programs, with a focus on newsletters and recruiting workshop campaigns. This includes designing customer journeys and implementing triggered automations to ensure a seamless and engaging experience. 
  • Establish and maintain high standards for quality control and assurance by documenting processes, roles, and responsibilities to ensure accuracy and completeness across all campaign executions. 
  • Systematize documentation in alignment with departmental policies and procedures to support operational consistency and scalability. 
  • Leverage platform capabilities such as personalization, audience segmentation, and dynamic content to deliver tailored experiences that drive engagement and conversion.  

 

Experimentation & Optimization:

  • Design, implement, and maintain a scalable testing roadmap. I 
  • Use findings to enhance the customer journey, shape the testing roadmap, and drive continuous optimization across touchpoints. 
  • Partner with Analytics and Data Science teams to develop reporting tools, track performance, evaluate incrementality, and share insights. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership across Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, and Product/Engineering to share insights, inform strategic decisions, and inspire experimentation.  

Team Management: 

  • Lead and mentor one or more individual contributors, fostering a high-performing and growth-oriented team culture. 
  • Provide strategic guidance and hands-on training to empower team members to meet and exceed performance expectations. 
  • Optimize team productivity by effectively managing workload distribution while supporting professional development. 
  • Demonstrate strong leadership by establishing clarity, communicating effectively, and reinforcing the value of collaboration to enhance team performance and cohesion. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field. 
  • 6+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, database marketing, CRM, Email, 1:1 marketing, including hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) 
  • 3+ years of management experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams with many tasks and timelines; ability to prioritize workloads and deliver on commitments 
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and deliver results 
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in marketing analytics and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau). 
  • Deep understanding of email deliverability, segmentation, A/B testing, and best practices. 
  • Familiarity with customer data platforms (CDPs), mobile push, SMS, and in-app messaging. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and project management skills
