Position Summary 

IMG Academy is seeking a strategic, results-driven Senior Director of Data Engineering and Business Intelligence to lead the design, development, and execution of our data and BI strategy. This role will be instrumental in accelerating the development of a scalable, unified data platform that powers insights across both online and campus-based systems. You will oversee Data Engineering (led by Director of Data Engineering) and BI professionals, transforming the function into a business-aligned, high-performance team enabling decision-making and product innovation. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Data Platform Leadership: Drive the rapid build-out of a scalable, operationally excellent data platform that unifies data across IMG Academy’s digital and physical environments. 

• Data Modeling & Governance: Establish robust modeling practices, validation frameworks, standardized KPIs, and canonical data definitions to support efficient and accurate reporting, analytics, and data science initiatives. 

• Business Intelligence Strategy: Advance the maturity of the BI function by creating streamlined access to timely, trusted insights that influence commercial, product, and operational strategies. 

• Self-Service BI Ecosystem: Deliver a governed, user-centric BI environment with well-modeled semantic layers and intuitive BI tools to enable non-technical users to independently explore data and answer business questions. 

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product, data science, analytics and business stakeholders to proactively identify data needs and embed data and insights into every phase of innovation and execution. 

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing data engineering and BI teams, fostering a culture of delivery excellence, alignment with business objectives, and continuous improvement. 

Qualifications 

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics, with at least 5 years in a director-level leadership role. 

• Proven experience designing and scaling data platforms and pipelines in complex environments. 

• Deep understanding of data modeling, data governance, and semantic layer design. 

• Expertise in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and modern data stacks (e.g., Redshift, Spark, dbt, Airflow). 

• Prior experience delivering marketing automations, product analytics, and ML/AI pipelines 

• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing, cross-functional teams. 

• Prior experience managing consulting engagements 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. 

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
