Position Summary:

The Director of Analytics is responsible for creating and implementing the analytics strategy and roadmap for IMG Academy. This role ensures integration of various data assets across the organization into a comprehensive data platform and implementing a data roadmap to successfully leverage all the data and generate insights to create superior outcomes for our customers, employees, and business partners. This role is expected to work cross functionally with business and technology partners to put data and analytics at the center of everything we do as an organization. Successful candidates will have prior hands-on experience in data management, data modeling, reporting and analytics and people management skills related to establishing and growing enterprise data teams. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with leaders across the company and senior management to identify strategic opportunities and establish an analytics strategy to optimally grow the business.
  • Establish and grow an analytics practice at the Bradenton IMG Academy campus, providing both strategic and tactical leadership by hiring the right people, selecting the right analytical tools and frameworks, and setting up the right processes.
  • Establish solid definitions for success for the Analytics function. Clearly articulate business outcomes and maintain detailed roadmaps to achieve them in a cross-functional iterative fashion.
  • Effectively translate business context for analysts and data context for business partners. Generate a deeper understanding of business domains amongst the Analyst team so they can partner effectively with the business to build an analytics-driven culture.
  • Generate a deeper understanding of data resources, technical assets, constraints, and capabilities amongst Analytics consumers. Empower business partners with the right BI tools, datasets, analyses, and the knowledge to derive insights on their own.
  • Help shift the cultural behavior from 'answering questions' to 'posing questions' and from 'validating hypotheses' to 'proposing experiments
  • Begin to increase the distinction between 'Reporting' and 'Analytics' in service delivery and amongst Analysts and their customer base.
  • Introduce a standardized reporting and analytics methodology across individual business domains covered by the Analyst team.
  • Evaluate current reporting architecture and tooling. Implement required changes to improve self-service analytics and reduce operational overhead within the analytics team.
  • Foster a user-centric, product mindset among the Analytics team members. Ensure strong cross-functional communication between business partners, analysts, and the data engineering team.  
  • Provide regularly updated communication upward and outward to business partners on team's current work, planned work, declined work, prioritization, risks, and decision-making processes.
  • Manage the overall workflow, intake, and execution of operational and strategic BI work across all corporate and departmental objectives.
  • Define, scope, plan and schedule data and analytics initiatives and dependencies across multiple data projects in collaboration with Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists.
  • Build, maintain and communicate detailed reporting, dashboards and analysis on key metrics highlighting business insights, challenges, and opportunities. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • You have prior experience leading complex data and analytics projects at the enterprise level requiring cross-functional collaboration across multiple business units and departments. 
  • You are an expert problem solver proficient in analytic databases, business intelligence, data science and SQL.
  • You are a strong leader who constantly seeks ownership and accountability for significant business outcomes through actionable insights.
  • You are an expert collaborator who can partner effectively with business, data, and technology professionals to drive data initiatives, innovate at high speed, and make sound decisions even in the face of uncertainty.
  • You have a degree in data management and/or analytics and can perform complex analytic tasks involving large datasets and statistics.
  • You are familiar with agile methodologies and are comfortable developing prototypes and MVPs (Minimum Viable Product) to validate key assumptions in an iterative fashion.
  • You have prior experience supporting the analytic needs of key business functions such as marketing, sales, digital product, and finance.
  • You have prior experience leading and scaling high-performance enterprise data and analytics teams   P
