Job Function: The Assistant Director of Business Performance works with a small team of experienced data and analytics professionals to apply data warehousing and data visualization skills in support of the ongoing management and development of a mature, widely used enterprise business analytics program.

This position partners with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data innovation and translate requirements into scalable analytics solutions. The Assistant Director supports innovative use of enterprise data platforms—including secure data sharing and Snowflake clean room capabilities—to expand advanced analytics and insight generation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with business process owners to understand analytics and performance reporting needs and translate them into effective data and reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with analytics team members, business stakeholders, and source system owners to stay aligned with business requirements and recommend source system or data mart enhancements.
  • Design and promote data visualization solutions that improve user engagement, usability, and adoption of analytics and reporting tools.
  • Support secure, governed data‑sharing initiatives that enable appropriate access to analytics‑ready data while maintaining data privacy and compliance standards.
  • Design and manage Snowflake clean room solutions to enable privacy‑preserving data collaboration and advanced analytical use cases.
  • Work with member schools, conferences and other 3rd parties to facilitate data sharing projects
  • Utilize Python and/or R to support advanced analytics, exploratory analysis, and automation of analytical workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements    

  • Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience (including internships or entry‑level roles) in business analytics, data warehousing, data visualization, or performance reporting.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, supporting analytics or reporting solutions, or working with structured data in a professional setting.
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or other performance‑driven environments preferred but not required.
  • Foundational to intermediate experience with SQL and enterprise database platforms such as Snowflake and/or SQL Server.
  • Exposure to secure or governed data access concepts, data sharing, or enterprise analytics environments preferred.
  • Experience creating reports or dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, or similar).
  • Hands‑on experience using Python and/or R for data analysis, modeling, or automation.
  • Proficiency with Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with an interest in data innovation and performance insights.
  • Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly in a collaborative, team‑based environment.
  • Clear communication skills and willingness to work with both technical and business partners.
  • Estimated Travel Required: <10%
  • This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 2 days in the office and 3 days are remote.

ExperienceRequired
  • Experience using Python and/or R for data analysis, modeling, or automation.
  • 2 - 4 years: Experience gathering business requirements, supporting analytics or reporting solutions, or working with structured data in a professional setting.
  • 2 - 4 years: Experience in business analytics, data warehousing, data visualization, or performance reporting.
