Supervising Producer - University of Texas
Reporting to the Executive Producer, the Supervising Producer collaborates closely with the athletic department, school production teams, student-athletes, and local staff to ideate, create, and deliver a robust and innovative content slate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce, write, direct, and shoot narrative and serialized Learfield Studios content at the university.
- Lead the development and production of 10–12 annual series as part of the broader content slate defined in partnership with the Executive Producer.
- Support the execution of Learfield Studios content operation at the university, including creative, production, distribution, analytics, content strategy, and sales integration.
- Build trust-driven relationships with student-athletes and guide them through all original, branded, and NIL content initiatives.
- Partner with the athletic department, local property team, sponsors, and top-tier Texas student-athletes to create premium NIL content aligned with brand voice, commercial objectives, and national visibility
- Execute and help evolve NIL content best practices across creative, production, distribution, and student-athlete communication.
- Provide input and recommendations on content strategy that supports athletics priorities, increases engagement, and drives local and national revenue.
- Use data, trends, and creative insight to support the development and execution of a comprehensive, year-round content calendar aligned to Texas Athletics priorities, tentpole moments, and revenue opportunities
- Pitch, ideate, and execute NIL and branded video series for sales teams, actively contributing to revenue generation through integrated storytelling, sponsor alignment, and scalable content formats.
- Ensure the highest-quality content delivery at scale, balancing premium storytelling with the demands of a high-volume Learfield Studios offering.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to meet all agreed-upon deliverables.
- Develop research, pre-production, production, post-production, distribution, and analysis plans for all proactive and reactive content series.
- Optimize content distribution and promotional strategies across official Texas Athletics platforms, LHN, social channels, and partner media placements, using data as a key creative input.
- Maintain strong communication with Athletics, SIDs, coaches, LHN partners, external production teams, and senior athletic leadership, ensuring alignment with Executive Producer leadership.
- Assist and occasionally manage pre-sale content presentations, including projected performance, distribution plans, and creative overviews.
- Track performance of all campaigns and create comprehensive recaps for partners, sales teams, and leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in sports or entertainment creating, writing, producing, and directing video content with 1+ year leading and managing a team.
- Hands-on experience shooting and directing video.
- Must provide a reel, portfolio, or website demonstrating hands-on shooting and directing experience.
- Experience leading a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate creative concepts to executive leadership.
- Passionate storyteller with extensive experience driving audience engagement.
- Proven experience in sports and/or entertainment environments.
- Ability to independently own projects and serve as primary contact for external partners.
- Background in digital, short-form, social, and influencer-driven content; narrative storytelling experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multiple team members across varied projects.
- Deep understanding of content production pipelines end-to-end.
- Comprehensive knowledge of production equipment, lighting, cameras/lenses, audio, and post-production workflows.
- Ability to write pitch materials, craft pre-production plans, and present to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong creative ideation skills aligned to project and brand objectives.
- Ability to interpret creative concepts and guide execution with clarity and vision.
