We’re seeking a strategic, results-oriented sales professional to join our growing sponsorship team. This role will be focused on new business development outside of Madison, WI — particularly in Milwaukee and other key Wisconsin markets. If you have a passion for sports and a proven track record of generating new partnerships, this is your opportunity to expand our footprint and help drive revenue growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of sponsors, oversee complex campaigns, and play a key role in both renewal strategy and new business development. You'll lead sales efforts from pitch to close, collaborate with internal and university stakeholders, and help shape our presence in the marketplace. This position is ideal for a seasoned closer who thrives on both autonomy and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development in Milwaukee and other key Wisconsin markets, building a pipeline of prospective corporate partners.
- Meet and/or exceed assigned revenue goals through a combination of prospecting, outreach, and closing new sponsorship agreements.
- Develop and deliver integrated sponsorship proposals across digital, social, broadcast, in-venue, and experiential platforms.
- Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, cold outreach, relationship management, pitch development, contract negotiation, and post-sale handoff.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners in external markets, while representing the property and university brand with professionalism.
- Collaborate with university stakeholders and internal teams to align partnership opportunities with school priorities.
- Support strategic renewal planning as needed, while primarily focused on driving new revenue growth in target markets.
- Represent the property at high-visibility meetings, hospitality events, and game day activations (including some nights and weekends).
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of conceptual or consultative sales experience, with a proven track record of new business development.
- Demonstrated success prospecting in new markets and exceeding revenue goals.
- Strong ability to build tailored marketing solutions for prospective clients.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfort with CRM systems and pipeline management in a performance-driven sales environment.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for game days and client entertainment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling in the Milwaukee or broader Wisconsin market.
- Strong local network of business decision-makers and corporate contacts.
- Experience selling integrated sports marketing partnerships (signage, radio, social, digital, content, etc.).
- Knowledge of digital marketing platforms, content sponsorship, and campaign analytics.
