SUMMARY
JMI Sports is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Attorney to join support the company's broad portfolio of engagements, clients, and services. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this individual will provide legal support across all areas of the company’s operations while also assisting with administrative and organizational responsibilities as needed. This is an in-person role and candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Lexington, Kentucky. Remote work will not be considered. The right candidate will be motivated to collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to align legal processes with business needs, and to engage at many levels of day-to-day business activity as part of a "do what it takes" approach to problem solving and teamwork. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Interest in collegiate sports is not necessary for success in the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including sponsorship, vendor, consulting, licensing, and nondisclosure agreements (NDAs)
- Support the General Counsel on legal matters involving transactions, regulatory compliance, and risk management
- Manage the contract lifecycle, from initiation through execution and archiving, including workflow tracking and document organization
- Monitor corporate filings and registrations to ensure all company entities remain in good standing
- Conduct legal research and prepare executive summaries, reports, and draft internal policies
- Assist with litigation and dispute management as needed
- Oversee document management systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies
- Provide general administrative and executive support to the General Counsel
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure contracts and legal processes align with business needs
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to legal operations and company administration
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in Kentucky, or ability to become licensed in Kentucky within a reasonable amount of time
- 2 -4 years of legal experience focused on drafting and negotiating contracts
- Solid understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and risk assessment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Exceptional communication, writing, and proofreading skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity in handling sensitive information
- Strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to perform both legal and administrative/assistant duties as part of a lean, collaborative team
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
