Under the direction of the Senior Associate A.D., HRRM, this position supports key functions within Human Resources and Risk Management, with emphasis on policy development and implementation, training, risk assessment, data analysis, and reporting. This role frequently collaborates with internal / campus departments and external partners in supporting the overall risk management and human resources operations of the organization. This position often requires working with confidential information independently and in a variety of administrative functions while implementing and maintaining administrative policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manages the collection and organization of data related to commercial insurance policies within athletics.
  • Collaborates with internal units and campus partners to ensure accurate documentation of coverage.
  • Serves as a liaison with the insurance broker, supporting timely renewals, application submissions, claim notifications and premium payments.
  • Coordinates with commercial insurance auditors, facilitating data collection and preparing required reports.
  • Contributes to the creation, implementation, and review of policies and procedures related to risk mitigation and human resources, ensuring alignment between athletics and broader campus policies to maintain compliance.
  • Researches industry best practices and recommends updates to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Leads employee education efforts through scheduled communications and training sessions on HR and risk-related policies.
  • Develops, organizes, and facilitates employee training programs, including digital modules and live sessions with campus partners.
  • Monitors training completion and maintain accurate records to support compliance and professional development.  Communicates with management regarding training records where appropriate.
  • Assists with HR functions related to payroll processing and benefits administration as a cross-training objective.
  • Provides general administrative support to the HR department, including records management and employee inquiries.
  • Serves as a backup resource for managing student-athlete insurance claims, supporting timely and accurate processing as needed.
  • Research, understand and facilitate risk assessment opportunities intertwined between UCF and the DSO structure.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years appropriate experience.
  • Appropriate graduate coursework or master’s degree may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in human resources, risk management / insurance or university setting
  • Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills including experience with Workday and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position may require work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time and occasional travel.
