Summary Of Job Duties

The Senior Associate/Associate Athletic Director of Marketing & Business Development will provide strategic leadership to the ticketing, marketing, and brand development areas. The position will administer development and execution of strategic action plans, with a focus on the following areas;

1) Supervise department ticket operations/ticket sales/premium seating/seat donation activities, customer service efforts, annual fund support, data analytics, CRM processes, marketing automation efforts, and pricing construction/yield management projects. 
2) Supervise all elements of the Arkansas Razorbacks brand, including direction of creative services and digital strategy teams. Lead efforts of staff to create comprehensive marketing and fan experience plans for every sport. Manage partnerships related to digital and social platforms, as well as assist environmental designs and facility installations. 
3) Supervise the department’s licensing, retail and merchandising efforts, working closely with partners CLC and Dyehard/Follett to manage trademarks, engage licensees, monitor infringement and increase licensing/merchandising revenues.  Collaborate on other business development efforts, such as digital raffles, third party ticketed events, etc.
4) Work with Learfield (multi-media rights holder) to develop strong promotional platforms to increase existing sponsorship levels, while supporting new initiatives in an effort to reach revenue share levels. 

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications

(Senior Associate Level) Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in sports administration, marketing, business, communications or related area of study from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • At least seven years of progressive experience in marketing, branding, ticket sales strategy and/or communications in collegiate athletics and/or professional sports
  • Experience managing the improvement of the gameday fan experience
  • Experience with CRM, data warehouse and marketing automation systems
  • Experience hiring, training, and supervising current and new employees in related areas
  • At least three years of supervisory experience managing full-time staff
(Associate Level) Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in sports administration, marketing, business, communications or related area of study from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • At least six years of progressive experience in marketing, branding, ticket sales strategy and/or communications in collegiate athletics and/or professional sports
  • Experience managing the improvement of the gameday fan experience
  • Experience with CRM, data warehouse and marketing automation systems
  • Experience hiring, training, and supervising current and new employees in related areas
  • At least two years of supervisory experience managing full-time staff
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least nine years’ experience in NCAA Division I athletics or a major professional league (ex. NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL)
  • Documented experience executing an integrated campaign across multiple platforms for a Division I department of athletics or professional sports team
  • Experience creating, developing and fostering a brand identity for a Division I department of athletics or professional sports team
  • Experience in extensive collaboration between different departments and/or partners to ensure revenue generation success across multiple campaigns
  • Proven track record of increased attendance and ticket revenues
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of fundraising requirements for ticketing and parking
  • High proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite products, HTML coding, CSS, Javascript, Premiere, After Effects, Microsoft Office Suite and web browsers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organizational and strong leadership skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public in a professional manner
  • Ability to motivate and inspire performance driven professional sales and marketing teams
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities and think critically
  • Ability to manage and control expenditures within a set budget
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and travel as needed
  • Ability to run effective staff meetings
