UCLA Athletic Performance Internship
The University of California, Los Angeles is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Performance Intern with Olympic Sports. The internship is 6 months and runs from January to June.
Duties include:
· Assist full-time coaches with performance training sessions
· Participate in the internship education program which includes two education sessions weekly and creating a sport portfolio
· Assist with performance testing and evaluation of student-athletes
· Assist with the implementation of performance technology such as Vald, Catapult, and performance monitoring tools.
Minimum requirements include:
· Bachelor’s degree or a degree in progress in an exercise science-related field.
· CPR/AED certification
· Strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning.
Preferred requirements include:
· CSCS Certification/ SCCC Certification
· Previous collegiate athletics internship experience
The positions are for volunteer coaches and no compensation will be provided. Screening of applications has begun and will continue until all positions are filled.
Effective August 1st, 2015, NCAA legislation mandates that only certified personnel can coach athletes unsupervised, therefore, CSCS or SCCC certification is required to train any athlete without the supervision of a full-time coach. Upon selection, UCLA Athletics will issue and require completion of Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) Mandatory Reporter training.
