The University of California, Los Angeles is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Performance Intern with Olympic Sports.  This internship will run from July through December, 2024.  Duties include assisting the full-time Athletic Performance coaching staff in all aspects of UCLA Athletic Performance program including but not limited to warm-ups, strength and speed training, conditioning, and athlete assessment, as well as participation in our educational curriculum. Minimum requirements include, a bachelor’s degree or a degree in progress in an exercise science related field, CPR/AED certified, and a strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. These positions are for volunteer coaches and no compensation will be provided.  Screening of applications has begun and will continue until all positions are filled.
 
Effective August 1st, 2015, NCAA legislation mandates that only certified personnel can coach athletes unsupervised, therefore, CSCS or CSCCA certification is required to train any athlete without the supervision of a full-time coach. Upon selection, UCLA Athletics will issue and require completion of Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) Mandatory Reporter training.
