We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Creative Video Assistant to join our Creative Video team within Stanford Athletics. Reporting to the Director, Creative Video, this position will provide support to the executive producers, specifically through content capture, footage labeling and feature story project management. The successful applicant will be a team player looking to expand their skills with video production and creative storytelling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide support at assigned events to accurately share the Stanford story in compelling video form.
  • Label footage and organize on Stanford’s internal servers per the Digital & Video guidelines.
  • Assist on feature video shoots with equipment management & transportation, lighting, sound check and filming.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine appropriate distribution mediums, create concepts, plan production, and produce media (including logistics coordination, video shooting, music and sound effect selection, computer graphics, animation, digital effect creation, editing and tape duplication).
  • Assist with the production of video content for in-venue video boards.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and ensure that Stanford remains at the forefront of the digital media landscape.
  • Other duties may be assigned

REQUIREMENTS
  • Understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite software, specifically Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Interest in learning production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery. Knowledge of camera, lighting, sound and editing. Understanding of online video environment and online distribution.
  • Ability to learn about equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.
  • Good interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Effective time management skills.

The expected pay for this position is $25 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Hour’s Policy:
Approximately 12-20 hours a week depending on the season. Days/times dependent on event days/times. 

Maximum 980 hours per year, no more than 8 hours per day, 6 consecutive days or 40 hours per week. Workers must use Axess program to record hours worked, inaccurate input of hours will result in disciplinary action. High School students are restricted to 15 hours/week during the school year and 40 hours/week in a non-school week.

Overtime policy:
Overtime must be approved by the manager, worker may not arrange to cover another shift resulting in overtime.
