JOB PURPOSE: Under supervision of Club Sports Athletic Trainer, Clinic Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing Athletic Training Services in the Club Sports Athletic Training Room. The expected pay range for this position is $38.00 – $50.00 per hour.
- Work with Club Sports student-athletes to provide care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses in the Club Sports Athletic Training Room. Provide injury prevention measures such as appliances, braces and devices for control of joint motion and limb protection.
- Provide injury reports on a daily basis, and report status and progress of injured athletes to the manager on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain a safe environment, medical supplies and emergency readiness for athletes at all sanctioned practices. Practice emergency protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical information, adherence to regulatory requirements and compliance with guidelines.
- Serve as first responder in emergency situations.
- This position is not affiliated with Stanford Sports Medicine.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Master's degree in athletic training or related field and one years' post-Master's experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer at the college or university level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication, administrative, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of electronic medical record keeping.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
- Strong clinical skill development.
- Working knowledge of emerging evidence based practices.
Certifications and Licenses
- Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (BOC).
- First Aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) for health care providers.
- AED (automated external defibrillator) certification.
- HIPAA training.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial Class C Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently stand/walk, sit, and use a telephone.
- Occasionally perform desk-based computer tasks, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully; rarely writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, kneel/crawl, operate foot and/or hand controls, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to drive day & night.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work a set shift of 20-30 hours per week.
