Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, mission-driven Head Softball Coach to lead and elevate our championship-caliber program. This is a stipend-based position with a postseason performance bonus, and it offers the unique opportunity to build into student-athletes both on and off the field through mentorship, skill development, and faith-based leadership.
The coach will guide student-athletes in pursuing excellence while reinforcing values like humility, work ethic, and discipline. The ideal candidate will be a role model who embraces the school’s Catholic identity and understands the balance between competition and character.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the softball program at the varsity level; provide oversight for JV or developmental levels as needed.
- Develop year-round training and skill development plans to improve individual and team performance.
- Manage game strategy, practice planning, strength and conditioning coordination, and scouting.
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and support staff.
- Handle scheduling, travel logistics, equipment inventory, and budget planning.
- Promote the program within the school, alumni network, and South Florida softball community.
- Foster personal and spiritual growth among student-athletes.
- Serve as a liaison between athletics, parents, faculty, and school leadership.
- Support student-athletes in academic accountability and college recruitment.
Qualifications
- Previous head coaching experience at the high school, travel ball, or collegiate level strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of program development and competitive success.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must model ethical behavior, integrity, and Christ-centered leadership.
- Must successfully complete background screening and Archdiocese of Miami compliance requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing student-athletes into college-bound players.
- Familiarity with strength & conditioning, nutrition, and mental performance concepts.
- Strong understanding of player safety and athletic health standards.
- Comfortable with digital platforms for film, scheduling, and communication.
Compensation
- This is a stipend position with compensation based on experience.
- Additional postseason bonus based on team performance.
