Position Summary

The Manager, Corporate Partnerships is primarily responsible for selling and servicing advertising and sponsorship accounts across SKE’s corporate partnership portfolio. This is a revenue-generating role focused on prospecting new business, building integrated partnerships, and delivering outstanding client service throughout the year.


Key Responsibilities


•    Sell advertising, sponsorships, and other revenue-producing opportunities as directed by the AVP and EVP of Corporate Partnerships or the President.


•    Identify and develop fully integrated partnerships with organizations and brands, including onsite activations, digital and social campaigns, VIP hospitality, entitlement and presenting sponsorship positions, and more.


•    Conduct industry research on prospective clients and develop needs analyses to support the sales process.


•    Prospect, schedule, and conduct initial discovery meetings, by phone or in person, with new businesses that would benefit from a Rutgers Athletics association.


•    Maintain an active and realistic pipeline of prospective clients and activities in Salesforce.


•    Prepare proposals and deliver presentations in collaboration with the Director of Creative Brand Partnerships and Marketing.


•    Close sales and honor obligations in a professional and timely manner, providing outstanding client service.


•    Manage book of business to ensure timely client payments are received by designated deadlines.


•    Conduct proactive client outreach and engagement throughout the year, ensuring that a meaningful portion of interactions are non-revenue-solicitation touchpoints.


•    Provide each client with a year-end review summarizing return on investment.


•    Foster positive employee relations and teamwork by following all policies and procedures, communicating effectively across departments, and complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.


•    Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


•    Bachelor’s degree required.


•    3–5+ years of sales experience in a related field; experience in college and/or professional sports preferred.


•    Demonstrated track record of outstanding sales achievement, including both revenue growth and profitability.


•    Proven ability to renew and upsell existing clients while consistently landing new business.


•    Exceptional pitch and closing skills, with experience closing deals up to and beyond six figures.


•    Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


•    Enthusiastic and creative, with the ability to think both strategically and tactically.


•    Strong understanding of sales compensation plans and the ability to navigate compensation conversations constructively.


•    Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.


•    Genuine passion for college and professional sports.


•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce experience required.


•    Ability to work events periodically and to work beyond standard business hours as department workflow requires.
